Gilmore master Series "Red Leader" issues

I purchased an Erma with a Gilmore red leader master series dot on it. The brightness adjusting ring / battery holder has started coming loose and wiggles a a bit. Has not been an issue until last night when the dot became glitchy and the adjustment ring had to be taped down during the competition. Opening up the battery compartment, there doesn't seem to be anything visible to tighten. I fear there may be a screw that comes up from the inside of the dot holding the rotating assembly in place. Does anyone have experience with this issue with this dot?
