45 acp Cases Blanken

Why my cases blacken a lot? Maybe less or too much crimping..I reload 45 acp with 200 grs lead bullet N310 powder 3,2 grs to shoot at 25 meter only? I do taper crimping 466 and 470..which best crimping on lead SWC bullets?

At your load level I’d shoot the .466 crimp with lead bullets. Many low level load like we use in bullseye will not expand enough to make a perfect seal. So the cases get sooty. It comes off in a wet tumble with soapy water and a teaspoon of Citric Acid per gallon of water will brighten them up.

As long as you are happy with the accuracy of the rounds and they function well, don't worry about it.

I noticed less sooting and more consistent ignition going to a .466 crimp from a .471 crimp, still dirty though. Just seems to be the name of the game with low pressure/power bullseye loads

Try .463 and see if it improves a bit more.
