NORMAL Slide Stop for Marvel 1911-22? Empty NORMAL Slide Stop for Marvel 1911-22?

Post by MuayThaiJJ 11/25/2021, 4:03 am

Today while assembling my Marvel conversion I decided to use my thumb rest slide stop I use to train with my bigger caliber uppers. It fits fine and after adjusting the guide rod it cycles too. Can I use my slide stop in place of the Marvel one to more closely replicate the feel when shooting 22?

thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

The Marvel slide stop pivots on the pin. The pin is locked in place by the tightening of the recoil spring guide rod. A standard slide stop does not pivot on a loose pin because it’s monolithic. You will not be able to lock the slide to the rear when the standard slide stop pin is locked in the down position. You may also get interference from the follower hitting the slide stop tab that normally engages the follower to lock the slide back after the last shot is fired.
