Technical info Empty Technical info

Post by Multiracer Fri May 12, 2017 10:29 pm

When one shoots a match, local, regional or national. Why is there no tech sheet on what each contestant is using for equipment, who the sponsors are, what ammo, etc ?
Win on Sunday, sell on Monday ?
I would think this kind of information could only help the cottage manufactures, the big gun dealers and manufactures, the ammo component people, the gunsmiths, the distributors etc, etc.
Flame on....

Most of my guns are 40+ years old, many no longer in production and I reload. That's coming from a relatively new shooter. I'm sure many shooters are similar.

CMP ask for manufacturer and model.
For bullseye a lot of guns are built by individual gunsmiths

And the match directors would have to be the ones to compile all that data.  I think we have enough to do now.
The CMP is just asking to make sure the guns used are on the list, I suppose, since none of that data is shared with us.

There isn't enough media or sponsor interest to make it worthwhile and anyone familiar with the sport knows that the brand of the gun has very little to do with the accuracy after a bullseye smith has built it into a target gun.

Probably why don't see any major sponsorship by ammo either. Everyone already uses the same components.

The ATA does it. It would be the NRA or CMP that would have to provide staff.
