Dan Wesson revolver trigger

So...picked up a Dan Wesson 715 revolver, made in Monson mid 80s I’m thinking. Overall pretty nice. I like the grip, really like the sights, weight feels good, maybe steadier. Trigger is about 4 lbs. has anyone worked on a Dan trigger? It would be nice to have it in the low 3s. DA is smooth...
I did read about doing an action job in the Dan Wesson forum, but wanted to ask here. Anyone shoot a DW revolver?

The revolver smith at Dan Wesson will do a trigger job for a reasonable price.  I have not tried a gun so adjusted.

Everyone has their own level comfort level in firearm disassembly and cleaning.  If you are comfortable partially disassembling your Dan Wesson revolver, Wolff trigger springs will likely provide the trigger you want.  Or, I should say, I've had excellent results with S&W and Ruger revolver triggers using Wolff springs.

Having (or grinding/filing) the correct screwdriver size prevents damage to the screws.  The cost of the gunsmith screwdriver bits and springs may exceed the fee to have the work done.  Good luck!

Thanks, may look into Wolf springs. I do have a gunsmith screwdriver bit and drift set.  The sideplate on the DW is held on by Allen head bolts. They haven't been chewed up.

Just be certain you know what you're up to before you try to disassemble your DW revolver.  There are plenty of tutorials, just do a search.  They are different though.

I've owned and shot a few,mostly the Model 15 .357 versions.I've never found it necessary to mess with the triggers much as mine have all been pretty decent out of the box.I do notice that the lock time is a bit quicker than a Smith or Colt.I did try the Wolff spring kit one time and ended up with a lot of light strikes. I'm sure there is a bit of stoning and polishing that could be done inside though.Don't worry about taking that side plate off.Dans are pretty simple and robust machines on the inside.-Mike
