Speaking of the NRA, times have changed.  Especially in Portland and other cities.
And a more recent resolution:

Unfortunately these days NRA is more interested in politics than in promoting shooting sports (emphasis on "sports"). You can't even choose to receive "Shooting Sports USA" as your member benefit, all they offer is either politically charged or a bunch of ads with one or two useful articles added. Yes, I know, without NRA things would've been worse...
