Sectional Scores

Hello Folks,
 
With sectionals coming up soon, I decided to review the results from last year.  It is not uncommon for someone to shoot above his or her assigned classification; after all, that is how we advance.  But I did wonder about a Marksman shooting 878 (98%).  Is this unusual?

Every single time I have shot sectionals, the results have always had some sort of issues. 2021, for example had the winner mixed up by a typo for a while. However, it is possible to advance (even to that level) without the classification following.

I would say extremely rare for Marksman to shoot a score like that. But also some guys can shoot a 22 well and not shoot larger calibers well. So the classification was based on 2700 aggregate rather than just 22 aggregate. It was common back in the day for guys that predominately shot International to shoot 3 gun on occasion. Their CF and 45 scores reflected this.
