Prvi Partizan wadcutter brass
Anybody have exprience with this stuff? I bought 500 to try out. I have the Photo Escape wadcutter PTU but it it sticks in Starline. I'm hoping this stuff will run smooth.

Dave...
For the PE expander, three things to try....
1. Don't resize your brass. Or use a 38 super die.
2. Polish the expander with some Flitz and soft wheel.
3. Hornady One Shot, or dry tumble with lube if you're wet tumbling your brass.
If you're doing all these, my apologies for pointing out the obvious!

Solid suggestions but I tried all those, still sticks with new Starline brass. I have 2 k of the Remington HBWC that I really want to use in new brass. My 52-2 is just awful at 50 yards even with Federal Match. My .38 Special 1911 is better but still not what I expect.Dcforman wrote:Dave...

Sorry man. Brass for 38 is finicky. What worked best for me was some once fired federal factory wadcutter brass Zane gave me. Double canneleure, feeds through my press very nicely. Haven't tested it at 50 yards though, so can't speak to accuracy.

Try tumbling the new Starline brass with ground walnut shells and add some liquid Flitz. Let tumble for a few hours.

This is good suggestion! TMBK new Starline brass comes undersized from the manufacturer. And it is quite rigid to begin with. I do not recommend using it for loading full wadcutters. However I was told by several shooters, that Starline is pretty much only option for getting new brass. I presume, after first firing it becomes more friendly in processing.BE Mike wrote:Try tumbling the new Starline brass with ground walnut shells and add some liquid Flitz. Let tumble for a few hours.

Re: Prvi Partizan wadcutter brass
I'm going to load this brass with "the good stuff" Remington 148gr HBWC. 2.7gr WST. I have 3 guns to test it in when the weather gets better. S&W M14-1 which is my DR gun a S&W M52-2 and my 62 Colt that was converted to .38 Special with the 6" S&W barrel way back when. Might load some with 2.8 Bullseye too just to compare. I've shot 98 slow fires indoors with the 52 and the Colt with irons. Hoping one of them will work at 50 yards and a dot. Thanks for the help all. BTW I messaged Grafs about the difference between the Prvi .38 Special and .38 Wadcutter brass. Haven't heard back.
