Holsters Needed? Empty Holsters Needed?

If there's a new/beginner subsection to this forum please let me know, I apologize in advance for such a silly question, but is a holster needed for bullseye competition? IE a 2700 match? Going to do my first one next month and watched a few videos and it does not appear so. I have two pistols that I don't have holsters for and not sure if they are even used/needed. Thanks in advance gents.

Magazines out, guns on the bench, empty chamber indicators in. Make the line safe ! Don't just put it in a holster.
