suppressors
Are suppressors leagal to use in bullseye? Just shot in my league tonight and the question popped up because someone is using, and did use tonight, a 9mm H&K with like a 5'' suppressor on it. Looked and sounded cool. We couldn't find any info at the time saying they are forbidden, figuring they are like a muzzle break and do not have rifling. Our league dosent count for anything NRA wise and is just an internal LE BE league. We figured the guy went through the hassle of getting the tax stamp, why not.

Re: suppressors
Since the rule book doesn't specifically mention suppressors, I'd say that they are allowable. That is to say, as long as, they don't fall under rule 3.18.

Re: suppressors
Super old thread, but I’m going to revive it rather than posting a new one. I train on my home range with a suppressor. I really like the added weight. I went through the most recent rule book and don’t see anything prohibiting them. Any guidance from someone more in the know?

Re: suppressors
I called the NRA a while back about this, they are not allowed. Since it comes up every so often, I suggested they put it in the next version of the rule book.

I don’t see a specific prohibition in the CMP, but there is a limit on barrel length of 10 inches. I don’t think I’d want to argue the point that an attachment on the muzzle doesn’t become part of the barrel “length”.

9 3/4 from beginning of chamber to end of suppressor. It will pass the 10” rule.Wobbley wrote:I don’t see a specific prohibition in the CMP, but there is a limit on barrel length of 10 inches. Re: suppressors
I checked the CMP Forum and there was a thread regarding suppressors. According to that, they are not legal for CMP matches. I will follow up with an email to them as well.

How is it "not allowed" if there is no rule prohibiting it?
My Oculus 22 suppressor in short config makes practice with a .22 a joy. Adds a couple ounces to the muzzle and you can shoot it without any ear protection, sounds like a pellet pistol. Everyone should be using one.

Re: suppressors
It is a personal opinion, just like any accessory. If one were to consistently use one, the biggest impediment would be having to to notify ATF if you are going to shoot out of state and there is the matter of some states that outlaw suppressors.CortoArmitage wrote:cdrt wrote:I called the NRA a while back about this, they are not allowed.
