Would anybody know if Colt Ace magazines are interchangeable for use in the Nelson conversion unit? Thanks in advance.

Not sure but the Nelson mags are completely trouble free, they even work in my Marvel.  Only issue I've ever heard of was someone had installed an EGW high mag release in their lower and that caused problems.

Based on my recent experiences the GSG and SIG marked GSG mags are better in the Marvel than the Colt Ace mags that I think were made by Metalform. There is less play (though still some in the GSG).

How tight does everyones mags fit in the gun. In other words how much up and down and back and forth motion in them when inserted.

All the plastic mags in my experience vannot use high mag release and have up and down play; gsg as well.
On Ace type mags l tune/dress/stone/polish feed lips; altered. I use high mag release and have to bend bottom of magazine floor plate to allow it to catch. I have minimal play. I make sure feed lips are not contacting ejector. I tune so front of cartridge has perfect feeding into feedramp for less deformation. Plastic mags and gsg allow cartridge nose to flop during feeding/cycling.

Does the flop in the plastic magazines seem to have any difference in accuracy caused by a deformed bullet? Has anyone ransom rested or sandbagged the different magazines to see?

A related question:   I have some GSG mags that were originally with a Marvel Steel lockback unit I had.  The followers from MP have a steel insert cut into them for the ledge that catches the slide stop to lift on last shot.  Is this metal insert unique for the MP lockback units?  Or is it simply a better mousetrap for most any unit?

I have not really tried them yet in Nelson or Advantage Arms units as their mags work just fine.
