Indoor Sectional Match Empty Indoor Sectional Match

Post by dieselguy624 3/2/2019, 7:03 pm

Anyone else get nothing from the NRA for their Sectional matches?  The NRA is a mess, we hold what we believe to be the largest NRA Indoor Sectional match(according to the NRA) in the country and we got nothing this year , no pins, no registration cards no returned calls, emails nothing  I have to wonder if we'll even get our scores recorded.  That outfit is way too big and well financed to be screwing up this bad. I'm sure La Pierre and Cox are getting their checks right on time.

Sorry for the rant but....

I just got word from the MD in Northern California that their Sectional is on, in two weeks. He said he had to email the NRA multiple times. Of course, the range is under 6' of water due to the flooding, so we'll see.

We had no pins or medals at our Free Pistol Sectional last month.

I still haven't seen any awards from the collated "National Indoor Championships" from 2018.

Greetings,

Perhaps the NRA will issue Hat Pins to the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in lieu of medals?

Sort of the manner the "CMP". (I hope I have it correct, now)

Cheers,

Dave

Looks like it might be time to follow WVPL ( Willamette Valley Pistol League) format. They have been issuing their own pins and awards for years now. We always get our awards.

Len

I think I need a taller hat. Very Happy Then I could get CMP pins on there also.

Does the NRA just get to collect the match fees and and don't have to do anything for us lowly competitors anymore? Sure seems to be moving that way...maybe they should divest the Competitions Division to another organization that cares. CMP?

I personally don’t think the CMP would do any better.
Second, the 2019 National Indoor Championship has been officially protested. This protest deals with the  eligibility requirements last minute change.  The pistol Director wanted  “ re entry “  to be allowed.

No?
I get a regular bulletin from them keeping me informed of things upcoming.
The CMP matches are posted on their website on a regular basis so I can find them.
The scores and results are updated pretty quickly once the results are in.
The awards pins are typically awarded at the end of the matches. Medals etc. show up in a relatively timely fashion.
Typically, when I have questions of the CMP, I can have those answered to my satisfaction.
Their check-in process at Perry and how they run the matches are largely better than the NRA's.
Their rule books are updated regularly and available for the world to see.
Need I go on?
In my limited experience and observation, albeit, not perfect, the CMP is light years ahead of the NRA in organization and taking care of the competitors, IMHO.

Well we got it done with three year old baby blue pins and scrounged up/copied blue registration cards,  All in all it was a good match with 124 shooters over 4 days. Tired of running up & down those steps though!

Searched to no avail. Sad

Here: https://competitions.nra.org/results-and-records/national-matches-results/nra-national-indoor-rifle-pistol-championship-results/

Don’t feel bad about not being able to find it, their IT department is worse than their Competitions Division, which is saying something... cyclops
To look for 2019 results check back sometime around mid-year 2020, maybe.
