It's an Armscor Rock Island Armory frame. I thought it'd be a good canvas for learning how to do a couple of things and maybe come out with a decent lower for a 22 conversion.

I have Jerry Kuhnausen's "The .45 Automatic A Shop Manual" (Volume 1 in the Kuhnausen M1911 Pistol Series)

I also have a couple of other books. I've done a few things on my own before but I'm going to enjoy building one from start to finish I think. My initial plan is for this to be a lower for a Nelson but one day I may fit a .45 cal upper on to it.

Cool project! I did the same thing last year and very happy with the results. It was my very first attempt....here is mine built on a Rock Island 10mm Auto tactical frame with a full length dustcover.
