Hi friends! 231 Winchester powder

hi guys and gals, so bi n shooting bullseye for little over a year now, i have a clark 45 (original from the 60s) with a slide mounted Bushnell red dot. and a kart national match barrell and bushing. also have an original RL Shockly, with open sights. i have been loading both with 185 grn zero lead semi wads, over 4.9 grns of Winchester 231. i used this powder for many years shooting PPC. seems to be very acurate out of both guns, but since  they both are very tight after about 60 to 70 rounds fired i start to get stove pipes. and loss a lot of points on the raped fires. when i take the guns down i notice a lot of powder residue around the rails. does anybody think bullseye would burn off better? I have a lot of this powder, also have but not tried 700x  old trap 100. what do you guys think?

Try 5.1 grain. Sometimes you need a little reserve of power.

Sometimes a little more crimp will give better ignition & cleaner running

Using 5.5 gr. in my Range Officer for 1000 + rounds with no issues at all.
Tried 5 grains to reduce recoil. First 100 perfect, then 1 stovepipe, 1 fail to lock back at about 120 rounds. 
Testing the lighter load with a oiled, but very dirty gun.
