Vortex Venom sight picture?

I put a Vortex Venom on my S&W 52-1 using an EGW base. All my other pistols have Ultra Dots.

In struggling with the sight picture. Do I use the two lines at the bottom of the sight and put the dot like it was iron sights? Or do I try to center the dot in the not round sight?

In not sure I like these reflex sights.

I believe that those are there in case the dot gives up the ghost & the zombies are breaching the fence.  I'd prolly take a sharpie to them to remove the distraction.
  
You should be using just the dot like you'd be using your ultra dot. 

JMO I'd rather have a tube type sight for precision pistol and save the reflex sight for bang & clang matches.

If you break the shot while the dot is on the center, you get a 10.

Put the dot on the target at the point you want the bullet to hit. Press trigger.  If the dot wanders to the bottom of the field it will still work but is not ideal.  Reflexes work just like any other dot.
