First topic message reminder :

How many of you guys here lubricate the sear and hammer engagement point and if so what do you use? I’ve heard a light coat of oil from some and I’ve also heard it’s best to use a specific lubricant or grease.. ???

I use Brownells Action Lube Plus which is a Moly grease in a syringe.  Not cheap but I am only on my second tube in 40 years.

Jason

TW-25 has an NSN.  Just have supply order it for you.  I can text you the NSN when I get home if you need it.  That's how I get mine.

I never heard of using lube on a sear, going back to..... NM. M1 M14 and M16 plus NM1911 plus Jewel and Bix N.
Andy triggers on bolt guns, now I have a 41 and I read this about lube on a sear .... Jim

You mean Ssgt Fisher never had you put grease on your hammer hooks?  Dobber (Tim's Navy counterpart) told us "just a touch of Shooter's Choice on the front hammer hooks ... and only when you take the trigger group out of the rifle for something else.  Otherwise just leave it alone!"

The line of thought in the M14 days was that adding grease to the hammer or sear attracted dirt and sand.  This would speed wear to the sear or hammer hooks.
