OEM parts from manufacturer

Has anyone ever purchased 1911 parts from Springfield Armory?
If not is there a source other than they for their parts?

What part?  Is it a historically significant pistol or something?   Tried eBay or Gunbroker or asking on Commercial Row on the forum?  You find lots of takeoff parts as people upgrade their pistols, many of them brand new.

You may have your reasons, but I own several SA 1911s and would not care to install any SA factory parts, especially their MIM crap.  There are so many good parts makers around making great stuff designed to make your pistol better vs. SA parts designed to shave every penny for shareholder profit.

There are three publicly traded firearms companies in the U.S. market: Smith & Wesson, Sturm-Ruger, and ATK. ATK makes mostly weapons for the DoD and ammunition and the other two companies are well known for their products.

Springfield Armory is privately held and thus, they pay no dividends to stockholders.

Yes and yes. You can buy SA parts direct from them or from brownells. Quality is consistent with price. They have pretty decent mid-grade quality items.
