National Matches-Ohio Swing

At my work we have to have our vacation pics for 2021 in pretty soon. I would like to hit as many matches as i can in the July heat. I may be able to swing two full weeks. What are the tentative dates for the big matches. Thanks for the help.

Canton Mckinley and Cardinal matches will probably be the week before Camp Perry, Cardinal midweek July 6-8 and Canton the weekend July 9-11.

Bristol Indiana has traditionally been the last weekend in June.

I would hope Bristol would consider  July 2, 3 and 4th.  That would create a chance to shoot almost continuously from July 2 though the 25th.  That would give shooters lots of options to the get most shooting possible by choosing the week or weeks they could shoot even with only 1 or 2 weeks of vacation.  Right now, if we are shooting, I'm thinking about a LONG trip with LOTS of shooting next year and still having my monthly club match by moving it to July 31.

I put in for vacation from July 6th through 27th. A lot of stars need to align before that happens, but the work boss has approved it. Just need the real boss to approve it. And that little 'Rona thing.

Dane are they going to change the format of Cardinal?  This year it was a 2 day event are they going to 3?

Cardinal, Canton and CMP were mentioned in the first response.

I was informed that Bristol will not be able to have a pistol match July 2 - 4 since they have apparently already scheduled an ASSA match for those dates.  If anything changes, someone please let us know.

Brian, that will be up to Jim Henderson. I do know that a lot of people would like a three day 2700 with team match. What would you like?

I really liked the way it was done this year.  Jim did ask that question during the match.

It depends if they get enough shooters for two relays or not.  If one relay, then the 2 day format is ok for me.  Any longer with 2 relays and that makes a really long day.  And I do want them to keep the Service Pistol 900 match.

It was my first time at Cardinal this past summer, and I've never had the chance to shoot Perry, so I speak as a Newbie to the big events. But I totally agree with CR10X.

2 relays on the first day at Cardinal become a real bore. When they compressed it to a single relay on the next day it was a huge improvement, IMHO.

Being retired I have the luxury of available time (except that it is running out!) and so extending Cardinal to 3 or even 4 days, but keep the schedule each day nice and compact would suit me just fine. Particularly since if doing the entire swing it is just another night camping/hotel prior to the next venue.

My apologies to those who are constrained by work/family/etc.

Cantons schedule shows the 6th-8th? Thats the same as Cardinal?

Canton is July 9-11.

its early but im looking at places to stay, any suggestions.  Cardinal, Canton, and Atterbury.

Cardinal's got a nice campground on site, and they rent out campers. There's a huge commerce area 19 miles south on 71 (Polaris) with anything national you could ever want. The exit 10 miles south (36/37) has a few places, but not nearly as much.

Did Henderson say in his interview 6th-8th..

Cardinal is July5th - 7th
Canton is July 9th-11th
Camp Perry is July 13 th- 18th
