Hello all,
I've been watching this gun on Gun Broker for a couple months. The seller just dropped the price to $600, but that's still to rich for my blood:

I was thinking about going Izzy but now I have my Marvel working well. This might be a good gun for someone else on the forum.
If one of you guys in Southern Wisconsin or Northern IL buys it, I would like it if we could meet up so I could shoot it sometime.

The IZH is a very accurate gun, problem is they were made out of sub standard metal which Leeds to doubling shots if used regular, thats a fixable issue but now that the spare parts have dried up and things like extractors and firing pins that break often are no longer available. To invest in one of these to use as a regular bullseye gun is a bad investment. When these came out i sold many of them, at 219.00 retail they were the best gun you could get for the money, had they not had so many issues they would still be in production. Spend your money on something that will stay reliable and that has a parts source you will be glad you did when something breaks.

Good points DavidR. When I had initially made my post, I intended to bring up the metallurgical shortcomings but I forgot. The original price is important for people to consider as well.

Who fixes the doubling issue? I have a 1999 and it doubles inconsistently @ every 500 rounds or so.

You could have a few years ago sent it back to EAA but not any more. You can look on the net and find posts about it, the few ive seen done require grinding out the bolt that has peened flat and is pinching the shell case as it falls causing it to fire.

My 1999 had the same doubling problem and EAA fixed it for free last June. I believe they'll still fix what they have parts for if they were the original importer of your pistol. By the way they do not have extractors any longer! Good luck. /MK

I know there is a popular 1911 smith on the east coast who does it, but his name escapes me.
