Red eyepiece surround ultradot matchdot

Red eyepiece surround for Matchdot and Ultradot. Anyone have these to sell or know where I can get them?  I heard the rubber bands they use to hold lobster claws work?  Asked for some at grocery and they didn’t have them to give up. Is there a specific aftermarket item to buy?  I have 3 30mms and one one inch tube so looking for what works for both sizes.

Amazon has them but you get an 8 person lifetime supply 100-350... mine are yellow

Ha. Just looked on Amazon. $10 for 350!  I think I may go with red to match the dot color. What the heck am I gonna do with the other 346? ‍�

 You could build a lobster claw band gun. You never know, could develop into a new match and go national.

Easy, just hold a Lobster Match.

Check a local seafood place

I went to an auto parts shop and found green o-rings for a few cents each. Sizes available for any scope. I can post a photo later.

One of our members makes them. He's got other cool stuff as well. Click on the PhotoEscape banner on the front page.

I've made a number of rings for the MatchDot. Can be made any color, any length, probably photos someplace in old topics. They screw in the back of MatchDot and other UltraDot scopes. Red lobster claw rubber bands are dull red, I have to look but I have plastic from bright red to ruby red as well as bright yellow and orange. Other colors too!  E-mail me at FSCO@pa.net if interested.

The lobster claw band was originally put on Matchdots so that the polarizing filter wouldn't rotate by itself, at least that's what I always heard and uses them for. The green oring wouldn't do the same thing. Now if you just want the visual border it would work for that.

I believe Dr Norman Wong suggested them a long time ago..circle in a circle theory
