Hammerli 208 light strikes Empty Hammerli 208 light strikes

What are possible fixes for light firing pin strikes on a Hammerli 208?
I’ve been having an issue with CCI SV ammo with FTF. I sent 200 rounds back to CCI for testing and 20 rounds with strikes on the rim that did not fire. (I bought a case of 5,000 about a year and a half ago. At least 1 or 2 rounds in each box of 50 do not go off after a firing pin strike on the rim.)
CCI tested the ammo using a S&W 41 and concluded that according to their testing of the ammo and examining the strikes of my pistol that the rim isn’t being struck hard enough to deform the rim to cause ignition of the round to fire.
I bought another case of CCI SV about 6 months later, and had no issues with FTF with100% success, same gun, and used the “bad” case ammo for practice and “new case” for matches.
However, during my last match a got an alibi with the “new case “ round FTF, and then yesterday another one.
I’m thinking that maybe CCI was right about light strikes?
I personally put about 11,000 rounds through the pistol (I bought it used, but it looked almost brand new with no signs of wear, but don’t know exact round count before me).
I changed the main spring (hammer strut spring by the mag release), but that didn’t solve the “light strike” issue.
Thank you for your input.

Is there any evidence that the firing pin may have been striking the barrel face from dry firing?

You might want to check the firing pin.  I was getting numerous FTF with CCI and Aguila, and recently had the mushroomed firing pin replaced.

There’s no evidence of the firing pin striking the barrel.
However, I’ve not changed the firing pin/spring, nor have I cleaned the pin because I can’t find a way to get it out.
I would love to be able to do that. Can someone explain how to remove / change it?

Here is a thread that might be helpful. https://www.bullseyeforum.net/t6948-replacing-firing-pin-h-208s

It is not difficult, just can be a bit tricky if you are not careful.

Could the firing pin have shrank by a few thousands of an inch over time? Happened to mine but was fixed earlier this year.

I would suggest you 1st clean the chamber with a bent 25 caliber brush. Then replace all springs, recoil and firing pin Included. When you have your FP out, check the firing pin Tunnel for signs of the FP dragging especially the upper portion.

Try different ammo and see if you get light strikes I bought a case of CCI about 1.5 years ago and had the same problem.

Replacing springs and firing pin can not hurt,

I thought it was ammo issue because the entire case was malfunctioning, but with a new case I had absolutely no issues, until last 2 matches when I had FTF twice. That’s what made we wonder is it was more than ammo.

Plus, check for a peened (shortened firing pin)

...and, don't forget, a lot of CCI SV is pretty heavily waxed. This may well be keeping the rounds from fully seating in the chamber. This is a common cause of light strikes on 22 rimfire.
