S&W Mod 52-1 slide onto a 52-2 frame? Empty S&W Mod 52-1 slide onto a 52-2 frame?

Hello all!

Can anyone tell me if I can use a 52-1 slide on a 52-2 frame? Is it a “drop-in” situation?

If they could be interchanged I am sure it would not be a drop in fit, from what I understand the 52 series pistols had a lot of hand fitting.  You might ask over on the S&W forum http://smith-wessonforum.com/

One of the posters on that forum used to work as a fitter for the model 52's
