Windage adj, from FMJ to lead Empty Windage adj, from FMJ to lead

I haven't shot  FMJ's at the long line then switched to lead for the short line in many years. Seems I remember going from the FMJ to the lead always required a windage as well as a elevation adjustmeant, for those using who have been doing this what are your findings?

Windage adj, from FMJ to lead Empty Re: Windage adj, from FMJ to lead

I've been shooting my ball gun only the last few months and I have been shooting NRA matches with lead.  I was having weird, unpredictable POI when switching from FMJ to lead and vice-versa so I started dunking the brushy part of my boresnake in bore cleaner, then pulling the snake through the bore a few times.  That really helped a lot.

I have found there is a slight windage adjustment--my notes say 1 click but my findings show the elevation changes are more related to powder charge.  If I shoot hot FMJs it's a big adjustment--if they are soft FMJs--close to the same as my lead bullets the change is less than 3 clicks. (on my irons)

Hope that helps.
