Trigger Weight Increasing?

Is it possible for the trigger pull on a 1911 to increase after a short period of time?  I just had a trigger job done on one of my ROs and after about 50 rounds it seemed harder to pull the trigger.  After checking it with my Lyman electronic pull gauge it showed an increase of more than a 1/2 pound.

Accumulating crap will cause accumulating trigger weight.
I'd clean and lube before getting too excited.

Yes it can increase after a trigger job,  but normally within a day or so. I've had some sear springs require several attempts to keep the weight I've set it at. The spring can take a "set" to it.

I've heard they ALWAYS increase right after they say: "The following match is the Excellence In Competition Match". Interesting.....

As parts seat in yes it change either way up or down.

One of the main reason for weight change is improper fit. If you get it back and are familiar know how disassemble and reassemble the pistol. Color the sear area that contacts the hammer with magic marker, black or blue is best. Assemble the gun with or without slide. I usually hold the hammer and not let it fall just release off the sear, do not use the slide if installed to cock the hammer, the disconnector will disconnect the trigger. Hold the trigger, pull the hammer back, release the trigger, let the hammer travel forward and connect with the sear, pull the trigger again as if you shooting the gun. I don't like having the hammer drop of the frame especially if there is no slide attached so I stop it after it's released by the sear but not too soon as to effect my test. 2 or 3 times should be enough. Your goal is to test the contact at the as ready to fire position so don't let the sear reset as it would if the slide is pulled back Remove the sear and see where contact was made, if it's rubbed off on one side your smith is not fitting it correct.

I guess I should have worded that better, I should have said WHEN you get it back since the OP said  He's having the gunsmith go through it again. I assume at this time he does not have his pistol and it is at the gunsmith being worked on.. Us old guys think faster than we type! I knew what I wanted to say, this lousy keyboard didn't listen!
