By reg they have to be.  They're o ly awarded to shooters with no points. At least it was back in the late 80s.

Congrats James! Did you shoot it one handed or two handed? I'm debating this for SAFS this year.

If you have not done the SAFS, I would highly recommend it. I was at Perry for my first time this past season and participated in the SAFS and the M9 match. Got my first 4 points also.

I did it in 2015, but shot it one handed. I'm definitely going again this year with my buddy Chris and bringing my wife for her first time.

I'd only shot one handed a few times before SAFS, so I scored about a 200, but I really wanted some one handed practice in a competition setting. (I was signed up for three more matches after that- Service Pistol EIC, NTI, P100)

I mis-read your question. I shot two handed on the second NMC. I tried both one and two handed in the practice round but due to my unfamiliarity with the gun and not confident in the sights, I decided to shoot two handed. Had I been shooting my own gun, I might have been more inclined to go ahead and shoot one handed. I also really wanted to score in the top 10 percent, score the points, and move on to the advanced class this year.
