1911 Pistol Levels

i read various classifications in 22's league,about pistols from entry level to high level pistols,but in 1911 i know the best entry level pistol is a range officer,but in the next levels,what are the 1911's?

The level after the Range Officer would be an all up custom.  At this point they get specialized. Wad guns are built around the SWC loading of choice.  Whether 200 or 185, and these sometimes have ribs added to increase slide weight.  Then comes the EIC guns sometimes referred to as "Hardball" guns.  These have strict configuration limits.  The RO with a going over by a bullseye gunsmith would be a higher end pistol here,

I think that a dan wesson valor would be an excellent "mid to high" gun for a be smith to accurize. Fit and finish is immaculate, checkering perfect, frame to slide fit perfect, and a perfect crisp #3.5 trigger. Literally all they need is target sights and a proper BE barrel fit with a Kart or KKM.

Results may vary with 1 & 2
1) RO, almost all Bullseye smiths will upgrade
2) Les Baer, some bullseye smiths don't like working on them
3) Worked over RO or LB, see above comments
4) Purpose built by known Bullseye Smith, Work with your smith to determine what you want.
5) Tweak #4 OR have another new gun built
