Trigger pull weight

Well I gave up on my digital trigger pull gauge and just got my NRA trigger pull weight set.  The only BE gun that is legal is my RF Nelson on a R1 frame with a KC trigger.  It is at 2.5lbs.  My LB with KC trigger is 3lb something but will not lift 3.5.  My 25-2 is below 2 pounds.  Just checked my 52-2 and it passes and is at 3lb 4oz.  Looks like I need a lot of trigger work.  Don

Looks like your 52 is way over  
All those weights should be safely adjustable to the required mind.

Also make sure you keep the barrel up and straight and lift up, make sure the weight isn't swinging from the side when you lift.

Also give yourself enough weight over min so that if someone is s little more jerky checking your triggers it will pass

Yes what I am shooting for is 4oz over.  The 52 is the gun I did all that rebuild to get it from 1lb 10oz.  Think the trigger pull gauge lead me astray. I am good with the 3lb 4 oz as I wanted all 3 guns to be about the same as the 45.  The 45 needs another pound at least.  At this point in my shooting skills it doesn't much matter as long as the gun is safe.  No one is going to question me using a light trigger to get last place in the match.  Don

Think of it like this, "I need to get my trigger IAW NRA/CMP rules; because, when I win the next match I don't want to be DQ'd."

Can't fly with the Eagles if you hang out with the Turkeys....good saying by someone on this forum, who's a dang good coach. 

Also can't set any national records with an illegal gun

Ok update 3 out of the 4 BE guns are legal.  Probably even a little heaver then most of you would have yours.  25-2 1lb 14oz,  52-2 3lb 3oz,  Nelson KC trigger  2lb 14oz,  but the LB 45 is still 3lb 4 oz but I don't have a heaver sear spring and I don't know what the hammer spring in it is.  I do have a 18lb and a 20lb and guess I could try one of then and see what the change is.  I been a spring swapping fool tonight.  Just glad I bought the spring tool as recommended as it was a real bear even with the tool.  Don

Don, You don't need to look for a heavier sear spring for the LB. You need to adjust the one you have. Maybe the easiest adjustment to make on a 1911 (as long as you want to increase it). Take a gander at the following link.

Thanks I was going to wait till I had a spare spring before I started bending this one but come to think of it I have other 1911s I could get a spring from.  Going to look at that link and start bending now.  Thanks.
