Rimfire trigger weight

Got myself a ruler 22/45 mark3 and I love it.  Need to get a dot on it so looking for a rail/mount for it or can I just use the one that came with the pistol?  Also..Tigger is not so swell.  I thought of polishing up the parts and see if it makes an improvement...If not, suggestions on aftermarket triggers?  Also, what is the min/max trigger weight for bullseye rimfire?

I'd like to find a cheap and I do mean cheap due to budget Pellet pistol to shoot in the basement..Range time cost money and I have none..LOL

There is no maximum trigger weight specified by the rules. The minimum for the .22 pistol is 2lb. 
The best bang for the buck IMHO, is the Volquartsen trigger group:

This is the kit for MKII pistols but it is best in your case because it includes a bushing, which will eliminate magazine disconnect. This is a DYI kit, which is relatively easy to put it. I did it with no experience whatsoever in working on guns of any kind.  

Included scope mount is absolutely fine - it worked for me great.

I would go with the 747 before the 717, but otherwise I agree with Rob. Do

I second use of Volquartsen trigger group:

Put them into Mark IV Ruger Lite pistols and made a world of difference.

Jon did a Ruger Mk III 22/45 for my son, the trigger is beyond good.

it's nice to see someone else recommend a Daisy. I've recommended them in the past for non USAS AP match shooters and the reaction from some was like I was taking their birthday away. Not on this website but of all places a highpower rifle website.

I thought it ridiculous to go from a 500g. trigger to a service pistol trigger when chasing distinguished points. The daisy I had came with a heavy, lousy trigger, my service pistol felt like a feather after a few tins in the garage. Made P100 only after shooting a daisy, go figure.

The Daisy is just fine for practice. I have also noticed that after spending time with the ball gun, my airgun shows improvement as well.

I have two mk3's that I wanted to put Clark triggers in because I didn't like the feal of the vq trigger. Called Clark to order them and they told me they don't sell them anymore. Only way to get one is have them do the trigger.

That's not a bad thing. They did an excellent job on my  Mk. Ii.

My Daisy 717 is awful too.   Love it.

I have an old 777. Had it since the 80's. Target sights, adjustable trigger, target grips with a shelf, even rear sight width is adjustable. Don't remember the price but it was pretty cheap for what you got.

For the $170 new, it really isn't a waste of money. It's a great training tool.

They are like a moped. they get you from A to B but don't get seen by your friends using one.

They really do work well for practice in the garage. I will always own one to get people started. I bought a new one years ago from Gil Hebard, super cheap back then. I bought a used one recently ($70) and the value makes it even better.

Can't get 717s anymore except used. Just bought one myself. Google Don Nygord Daisy 717 modification. It doesn't look super hard to do and brings the trigger down to 500 grams! He used one to win the California State Championship.

I don't recommend the Crosman P1377 American Classic Multi Pump. You work a bolt action to insert the pellet. The bolt is soft metal. After working it back and forth a few hundred times, the bolt broke off. Not even worth fixing.


I use a Tasco .22 Rimfire 1x30mm 5 MOA Red Dot Riflescope I bought for around $50. It fits the Benjamin Trail's dovetail rail.


Again -- I am not shilling for anyone.

I haven't been recommending the Benjamin because while the 717 is actually useable for 10m competition, the 7lb trigger of the benjamin and the break action seems troublesome for accuracy. I would like to see someone score over 85% with a Benjamin before I would recommend one. I think I could break 90% with the daisy.

Since this was originally about Ruger .22 triggers a friend put in a Majestic kit on a Ruger Mk3.  Very nice!  Better than the Volquartsen I put in my daughters Ruger.
