Interesting. Will a fee be involved, like the NRA? Will it include dots? Will it put a dent in Wayne's wardrobe allowance?
Thanks!

If they charge the same rate per round as they do for 30 and 40 shot matches, you won't be able to afford it.

From this form: http://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/NONEIC_Instructions.pdf?ver=20200103
"2. Pay a $20.00 fee except for the 2700 Pistol Aggregate which is $30.00 (plus $6.95 shipping & handling) to the CMP for each sanctioned event day. Sponsors may charge individual entry fees to match participants to cover their expenses. These entry fees are paid to the sponsoring organization and are retained by the sponsor."
looks promising

Looks like they aren't charging participants???CR10X wrote:If they charge the same rate per round as they do for 30 and 40 shot matches, you won't be able to afford it.
For non-EIC matches:
"REQUIREMENTS FOR MATCH SPONSORS. Organizations that sponsor CMP-Sanctioned Matches must fulfill these requirements:
1. Be currently affiliated with the CMP in “good” status.

Looks like CMP gets their daily $20 or $30 fee...anything above and beyond that the sponsoring organization gets to keep. So if a 2700 is held over 2 days..we are paying $60...
If EIC matches are held in conjunction with the 2700, is there an individual match fee or does the daily fee cover it?![Shocked](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_eek.gif)

we are paying $60... yes the sponsor (club) cost for the match - not individualTonyH wrote:Looks like CMP gets their daily $20 or $30 fee...anything above and beyond that the sponsoring organization gets to keep. So if a 2700 is held over 2 days..we are paying $60...

The 2 day $60 fee would be divided by the number of shooters to get individual costs + whatever the local match sponsor needs to cover cost.
EIC matches the CMP charges $15 per match per individual. If you shoot booth a service pistol and a rimfire EIC match that will cost you $30 + the club cost.

Ok guys, so the NRA sanctioning fee is $5.50 a head
The CMP sanctioning fee is $30 a day.
If you run a 2700 with 20 shooters you will owe the NRA $110
Or... owe the CMP $30
Yes, if you have more than 6 shooters.... you will bank more money
Using the CMP. More money, more and better awards. More awards,
More shooters.... I think the NRA needs to rethink a lot of things.

Summary of differences
I have tried to summarize what is different between the new CMP "Match Pistol" 2700 and the old (meaning what we are familiar with) NRA sanctioned 2700 to help both competitors and Match Directors - See http://www.njpistol.net/2020CMPvsNRA2700s.htm

Hmm - I spy a problem for some people in slow fire. My reading of the last item is that swapping the mags after shot 4 (when shot 5 is in the chamber) is not allowed.
Other than that I see nothing there to create heartburn. An organizing authority that actually keeps scores and classifications up to date might take some getting used to however. I'd guess that a match director will need to check the classification for each competitor at the start of a match - the shooter could have 'improved' since the entry form was completed. Actually - one reading would suggest that a really good 22 on day1 could bump you up for CF & 45 on days 2 and 3. That would make the results "interesting".

Re: CMP matches for clubs http://thecmp.org/competitions/forms/
Probably CMP 3.11.4e could use an added sentence like NRA rule 19.7 which explicitly states a competitor will "fire the entire tournament in that class" [where that class is their correct current classification in effect when the tournament starts]...
For local matches, I ALWAYS check classifications online for all competitors as a standard practice already!
