Range closed

Just got a notice that my range , Arvada Rifle and Pistol Club, is closed until April 11. This is a private range. I usually train early morning before work. Usually I’m the only one there.  Sooooo, I’ll dry fire and load ammo until I can shoot again.

Our range is closed to everybody until further notice.  I'm on the board and I helped choose this action.

The range in Florence is still open. Members and family only. If the shooters can't keep social distancing they will close it completely. But they closed the restroom so they might as well just lock the gate.

Why are private outdoor ranges closed.
At least in Michigan the State considers that permissible recreational activities if maintains social distancing.

At least I can still shoot  air pistol at my work.

My indoor range is still open. They have 12 lanes. They are allowing 10 people at a time inside. I will still pass. Just not worth it. My LP50 hasn't seen much use in the last year but now just about every day. My son (electrical engineer) built me a wireless turning target system for Christmas a few years ago. I'm glad my scuba tank was just filled recently.

All the local clubs have closed indoor ranges to group affairs.  The public indoor range/gun shop has closed except by appointment for gun purchase. 

One outdoor range is still open, I was there and the only one there.
Our local club has a 50 foot indoor range open for practice, but its rimfire only and no turning targets.

Without a specific declaration that range activities are OK (not likely in Illinois) our local club's lawyer recommended closing to avoid a lawsuit later. It wasn't said in the announcement, but I suspect less direct "attention" from state government could also be a concern.

Our interpretation of Oregon Governor's executive order leaves very little loophole to be open.

The last time I visited my range was a couple of weeks ago.  Back then, they had a stack of napkins in the clubhouse.  This was the napkin on the top of the pile.

Now, if it was sound-proof, we could all shoot again!

Sunday our governor declared all shooting ranges, public and private, must close along with camping sites.  Hiking trails, recreational use of roads and paths, etc. remain open.  Stay safe everyone.

They opened my range in Poway, the 50 yard one. The 25 yard is for first time buyers to learn to shoot. Offered free to first time buyers because there were so many and many had zero shooting experience. The 100 yard range is still closed. The 50 yard range will only allow 10 at a time and three stalls between each shooter. Interesting times.

Our local range is also completely shut down.  They were allowing single shooters on the rifle and pistol range as long as they maintained a safe social distance, but today the Board stopped that as well.  Rifle and pistol activity is small there compared to shotgun. Luckily though, I have a 50 yd turning target range in my front yard.

Ours is open.  We have a statewide stay at home unless our employer submits our name as a critical resource.  Since the state Exec order permits exercising, I plan, if stopped, on the Five-0 that I hike the property at my gun club for my lunchtime exercise.
