New York State transfer Empty New York State transfer

Shooting friends who live in NY state (or are familiar with its laws), can you please PM me? I have some questions about legally transferring a firearm to NYS (*not* NYC), and the regulations are quite Byzantine. I am looking to be strictly above board and by the books.

Basically FFL to FFL

NY dealer may reject the deal based on laws he has to follow.

ie no hi cap mags, assault weapons , class lll etc

Just a note, in case you are unaware:

Supposedly, the "Big Box" stores will do transfers for only $10.00 FFL fee, whereas all the smaller places (but, one) that I have checked with, charge $35.00.  I did check, in person,  a couple "Big Box" places and they said it was true, but you should check with your own local ones to verify.  I would welcome reading validation or contradiction, if found with any local to you stores.
