SA Bullseye Wadcutter vs RRA Bullseye Wadcutter
Are there reasons to choose one over the other?

Not really. Both will be excellent and both Springfield and Rock River support our sport with prize donations, sponsorship, support at Camp Perry etc.

Not sure which SA you're talking about, but if it's not from the custom shop, it'll probably need some work to shoot as well as a Rock River out of the box.

If you're talking about Springfield RO vs a Rock River wad gun, then Rock River, all day, every day.

A Rock River is over twice the cost of a Range Officer. It shows, it's worth it. I have both. The RO is a nice gun. The RR is excellent.

Ah, never mind. I forgot that SA now markets a bullseye wadcutter 1911. It is from the custom shop. Honestly, they're probably very comparable. Basically the same price. I own a RR, and have shot a SA Custom Shop (albeit an older one). Both are very nice.

From what I've heard the lead time from SA custom is much longer out than RRA. I owned an older RRA and it was a fine pistol. Full custom is the tops but you're looking at $3k+ and a good wait. If I were starting out I would get a used Les Baer, RRA or lower to mid end used custom, then put a deposit on a full custom, then you already have a backup you're used to shooting when your custom is done. Nothing to it but to break out the checkbook lol.
