Nomar sight

Hi. Just wondering what is everyone's thought on this Nomar sight https://www.bunkerarms.com/product-page/nomar-conversion-complete-sight . I currently have a Dawson adj. rear sight on my service pistol. I like the sight picture of a Bomar but the slide was cut ala Novak style.

Bunker Arms makes high quality parts.  Your slide will have to have additional machining done to fit the Nomar to your slide.  I think you'll be very happy with the sight if you go that way.

anyone know of a smith I can send my slide to? My go to smith cant do it

didn't see any gunsmith services on their website...sent email. Surprised that my go-to gunsmith can't do it.

I know Brandon when he was just a guy fixing guns. He is awesome, whatever he does is to a high standard.

Frustrating part is finding a 1911 smith. Coming from shooting service rifle its easy - go to Compass Lake or White Oak website and order parts/services. Finding a good 1911 smith entails a secret handshake and some enduring degree of patience

There are a couple highly regarded 1911 gurus on this site, like KC above, and Jon Eulette.  I can also point you to Jim Milks at Innovative Custom.  He used to 'smith for George at EGW, or Dave Wells at Wells Custom Guns.  He was a Kimber Custom smith.

And to think old gunsmiths did it with files.

Pretty sure any of the former 2112s here will tell you plenty about making 1" cubes with hand tools before they were allowed access to mills.

Aside from those mentioned above, I would add Dave Sams, Steve Huff (AccuracyX), Jonathan Shue, and possibly Clark Custom Guns.  I’d caution that many of these prefer to fit NEW uppers if you send in your gun over fitting a barrel etc. to your frame and slide.  It’s been well determined that fitting from “the ground up” gets a better and longer lasting build.

Brandon gets about 10K for his new blue printed builds these days, and unless it's a machine gun or a WWI 1911 collector restoration  I do not think he takes much smithing work. 

He started out finishing guns for CGW and doing local gun smithing and advanced from there. 

I am very certain KC or Jon can install that sight for you no problem.
