I just picked up a Hammerli 232 pistol and while cleaning it for the first time I noticed the there are 6 threaded ports just ahead of the chamber. Inside the Hammerli box I have a red accessory packet with some tiny screws for these ports. Are these to fine tune the back pressure to insure reliable function. I've never seen this before and that is the only thing I can surmise. I'm going to put some CCI Standard Velocity 22 Shorts to see how they function. I'm not a competitive shooter so this Hammerli will just be a range pistol.Hammerli 232 F2f65710

I believe that's exactly what they are for. The objective was to balance reliable functioning with minimal recoil.

Dave thanks for the link to the manual. The copy I have is in Swiss and German.

I shot one of these at my first USASNC in 1994. I borrowed it from my mentor. I couldn't keep it running, and Dave Mattice (sp?) from the All-Guard Marksmanship Team did his damnedest to keep it running.

I'll never forget his kindness, because he had zero obligation to help me out, other than the fact that I was a know-nothing Junior at the time.

Now I'm a know-nothing adult.

Naa... I'm sure you've learned "some" things by now. Old age is not for the ignorant or unlucky.
