They’re drop in barrels. Have never seen one that really fit well.

The barrel seems to fit fine and functions ok but I doubt it is really fit bullseye good😄. I was attempting to father a little history on the gun, a 1947 vintage Colt Government Model. Strangely it appears that whoever installed the barrel didn’t fit the bushing as the barrel is SS but the bushing looks to be stock Colt. As such the bushing is a loose fit, not sloppy but not tight either.

I called Ed Brown products, and they said he started producing barrels in the early seventies.
