Gov model 1911 Grip Safety Empty Gov model 1911 Grip Safety

Post by Rodger Barthlow Sat Apr 08, 2023 7:28 pm

My grip safety on my ball gun doesn't fit quite right in that it sets a little shallow in the frame. I have a spare but it won't engage the trigger bow so I tried to stake it to make it a little longer like the one that is in it and I had a brain fart and forgot to heat it before I tried to stake it, the tip broke off and now the safety is junk.
The only Gov style grip safety I can find is made in the Philippines.
Does anyone know where I can get one made in the USA?

Yeah I thought of that but don't have a welder and the cost to have it done would probably cost more then a new one.
But thanks for the suggestion.

Fusion and Smith & Alexander are both available domestically. Not sure if Fusion is made in US, but pretty sure S&A is.

EGW - Made here in PA.  Not MIM or cast but machined from stock.
