Free Air Pistol Program in Columbus, Ohio Empty Free Air Pistol Program in Columbus, Ohio

Post by TargetPistolGuy 9/12/2023, 8:54 am

Friends,

The fall session of the City of Columbus’ Therapeutic Marksmanship Program (Air Pistol) kicked off last night and I’m hoping to get the word out to those in the area that might be interested.  Basically, this is a fun (mostly non-competitive) weekly program that goes on Monday nights from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.  The program is hosted by the city’s therapeutic recreation department at the Franklin Park Adventure Center (1755 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43203)

This program is supported primarily through VA Adaptive Sports grants but we’ve also received support from Red Feather Outdoors and PVA.  It is geared toward the adaptive community but all are welcome.  We’re really just trying to create a good marksmanship community.  The typical attendee is brand new to shooting so our evenings are mostly instruction and an abbreviated match of time allows.  This is perfect for people who have no experience but a willingness to learn.  Instructors are area coaches and shooters, including myself.

There is no cost and all equipment is provided.  You can bring your own as well.  We currently shoot a mixture of Hammerlis, Walther, and Benelli.  Targets are fully electronic Sport Quantum SQ10s.  For those who want to compete there is money and equipment available to shoot CMP monthly matches in Camp Perry.

Please share broadly.  Below is more information and the registration info.
