I finally own a Service Pistol
When I started shooting a 45 in bullseye I bought a Range Officer. Hated it. It recoiled hard, and was not accurate enough. I turned it into a dedicated lower for my Nelson. Instead I bought a Mil Spec and had it built into a bullseye gun which served me well. But I never owned a “service pistol” or “ball gun”. I picked up most of my legs with a borrowed Range Officer that only had an upgraded bushing, slide stop pin, and trigger. My last leg I got on yet another Range Officer that I bought. But I sold it later on for other toys. Now here I am again. With my .. what am I up to.. third range officer. Only this time it’s here to stay. I had a friend rebarrel it, I did the trigger with some guidance from someone at work, and now I have my very own Service Pistol! Thanks very much to the gentleman that helped with the barrel work.

Oh, the irony...
The word "own" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

I have a 'service pistol' too. Although. I'm not sure who got 'serviced' in the transaction...
