Hammerli xesse sport Empty Hammerli xesse sport

Post by Flytrap1 Tue Mar 31, 2015 7:01 am

I'm thinking about buying the Hammerli xesse sport from larrys guns. I will probably have him do the trigger job and install a pair of Rink grips. Is this money well spent? I'm currently shooting a ruger Mark III and a model 41 and want to move to the next level without having to tell my kid he can't go to college! Any opinion would be appreciated .

I have one or sale with larrys trigger , crazy accurate and reliable.

$1000 it's yours with larrys trigger 6 mags one year left on warranty.

it's listed on gun broker and has bids so let me know if interested.

Was not for me.

I bought one for my son a few months ago from Larry's, with the trigger job. He loves it. Zero malfunctions with CCI Standard Velocity in probably 500 rounds or so. I do not know what the stock trigger feels like, but Larry's upgraded one is superb. It picks 2.25 lbs consistently.

I don't know about 50 yard accuracy, but will find out in a month or so, if the snow ever melts............

This pistol is known for having long roll trigger. I'm not sure if Larry's trigger set up can eliminate most of the roll or not. So if you aren't a fan of a roll trigger you might not like it.

I've had mine for about 11 months. With the Rink grip and Larry's trigger. Very happy with it. 1/2" groups rested at 25 yards. Loves CCI SV. Easy to clean. Tip: If you get Larry's mount, double check zero after cleaning. It's usually right on but not always.

In 2005 James Henderson shot a Larry Carter Custom Hammerli Trailside and set a new Camp Perry .22 aggregate record. The score was 897-60X. Back then Larry was testing the accuracy of Hammerli Trailsides and picking the most accurate to customize. He may or may not be doing that today, I don't know.

Couple of reasons I just ordered a 1911 from KC and they are not inexpensive and needed the room and money.

Larry's Trigger is Awesome but I have a short index finger . The platform was not for me with the standard grips.

I shoot a lot of revolvers and 1911 and I just decided to keep things simple.

As far as 50 yards not to many guns are as accurate, my friend ransom tested on of his and it was right with an aw93 may be a little better.

I had the Sig Trailside forerunner Hammerli Xesse.  It is the only 22 I regretted selling.  I've had Hi-standards, a M41, and a bunch of Rugers.  I currently shoot 22/45 with Volquartsen upgrades.

My trailside would routinely put 10 round cci standard one hole at 25 off sandbags.  The test medallion that came with the gun had a one hole group of 5 shots at a distance of 25 meters.

Easy to clean, easy to mount dot, good trigger from Larry's Guns.
Regret selling.

Well you can buy mine. $1000 with larrys trigger 6 mags, 95 gn barrell weight, dove tail scope rings and 1 year left on warranty.

That will save you about $300.

Sounds like a good deal Rich. However I am saving up for a new wad gun too. After I get that one maybe that all think about replacing my 22.

The catalog says 950 grams with the ergo grips it has to be more. As the crow flies it's around 30 ounces.

Add a couple ounces with the barrel weight

that compares to 38 ounces for a hardball gun.
