Wife and I went to the range today and she complained about not having any full power .45 loads...Right!  LOL, I have it rough.  I'd like to load some hotter but maybe not full power for our carry .45's  I'd also like to use any powder and bullets I have on hand right now.  that being LSWCHP 185's and some Nosler 185 JHP.  I will order some 230's if need be but like mentioned I'd like to use what I have on hand right now.  I also have some 200 swc lead as well.

BE powder, titegroup, VV310.

Thanks Gents

Look forward to the answers  Smile

Of the three powders, try 5.0 to 5.5 Bullseye with the 200 LSWC.  Start at 5.0.

Well they shoot 230s to the same velocity. 850 to 900.

230 fmj, 5.2gr Titegroup, 855 fps. 5.1gr Bullseye 849 fps. 6.6gr Power Pistol 867 fps. The Titegroup and Bullseye loads are at or near max, but you can go considerably higher with Power Pistol. I think I tried 7.0 but I didn't chronograph it.

N310 max with 230fmj is 4.2, which gave me about 760 fps. Nice softball load.

With the bullets and powder you have I would go with 6.2gr of Titegroup behind the 185gr Noslers. That load should give you a round that goes about 1000 fps. You can actually load hotter then that. But, that is the load I load for my Commander. I also like a "hotter" load for my carry pistol. Don't forget to change your recoil spring Smile

No need to change the spring.  This is for my Carry Commander...I don't play with light loads in that.

That 5.2gr. of Titegroup is deadly accurate in my hardball gun under a 230gr. Sierra Matchking RN FMJ. She is a stiff load tho.
