Smith 41 grip help
Ok guys and gals what are your recommendations for anatomical grips for the S&W Model 41? I've tried the stock grips, Herrett Nationals and Herrett H41 models and all were too small for my hand. The Herrets were big enough but they weren't as comfortable and didnt feel quite right so I think I want to try some anatomical grips. My hands are pretty big, 102mm wide measured across the knuckles and my fingers are on the longer side too. The problem is it's hard to try out these grips as they don't seem to be stocked anywhere around me and I don't wanna just try them without knowin because they're $150-250 a set and I can't seem to find any used either lol. Any help you guys might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Smith 41 grip help
Recurvist22,
My hand width is also over 100mm wide. My fingers are very long -- see "avatar".
For my S&W M41, I bought two X-Large grips to try. I used each for a number of months. From my perspective, Vitarbo grips are a somewhat radical anatomical shape. Randall Fung grips might be described as a cross between more conventional grips and the aggressive Vitarbo. I liked them both but neither was "perfect". Getting "perfect" will take putty, a dremel tool and a LOT of time. Both of these are available in X-Large. I assume you are familiar with Rink -- the $250 option.
I sold my M41 when I bought a Pardini. Another member on this forum with sasquatch sized hands bought the Vitarbo grips. I still have the Randall Fung so if you would be interested, I would make you a good deal.

Re: Smith 41 grip help
I gave up trying to find a set that fit my Mongo hands and ordered a set from Herretts custom made. You send them a hand print and they make them for you. It took about 6 weeks and cost 175.00 but was well worth it. They fit great. Didn't help my scores much but I suspect that's the old eyes more than the grip. 108 across palm

And don't forget Nill's. They have some adjustment.

Re: Smith 41 grip help
I have the original grips on my older 41 and they are perfect for my medium-large but not xtra large hands. Give Houge grips a try (the ones that look like the old 41 grips) they are slightly larger. I bought a set because they looked nice but they where too big for me. You can often find them on ebay.
