WOW Cardinal Center in Ohio

Wow I just looked at the Cardinal Center web site in Ohio. Never knew they had pistol events. I shot there many years at ATA trap shooting events. I registered over 100,000 targets before I retired from the sport. Taking up pistol shooting now. Love Cardinal Center.

In 2 weeks there is a 5 day Bullseye clinic there.   Im staying on the grounds and am excited to see the place, it looks impressive.

Yes the facility is outstanding . Probably the best facility on the east coast. Is a huge facility.

Ohio is in the Eastern U.S. and has a coastline. That sounds close enough. It makes more sense then saying Chicago is in the Mid-west.

I feel sorry for those six States that have the black dividing trench right in the middle!! 
Michigan has a West coastline and an East coastline, thinking about it , the State has a coastline all around....so I guess we are the westmideast coast.

Well, Emery Air freight wanted the leased land used by ATA for a new freight terminal. So, the ATA was given their walking papers so to speak, the ATA owned very little of the mile long firing line.

The discord was over available land for a new homegrounds. eventually the ATA moved to a Peabody Coal property outside Sparta Illinois as part of the World Shooting Complex. 

Ohio shooters eventually worked with Jack Fishburn and his Cardinal Center campground to build what is now one of the great shooting facilitys in the country.

Ohio shooters still today refuse in mass to travel to shoot at Sparta, Illinois.

I was in the UoM marching band during those years including a trip to the Rose Bowl.   Funny story (since we are already WAY off topic), I went for an interview in Reno, NV years later and everyone there had pieces of the old buckeye astroturf on plaques on the wall and every interview started with, "Oh, you went to Michigan, don't worry we won't hold that against you."  yeah right!
