Remington Trigger job Empty Remington Trigger job

Post by 10sandxs Sat Oct 05, 2019 2:08 pm

Did a trigger on a remington... they are now in the same catagory as Charles dailey, citadel, taurus, and rock island... but it was for a friend who shoots, but not a lot and not for competition. The trigger shoe track was way taller than an oversized trigger was so I tried something...

Some 3mm hardened pin stock a 1/8" end mill a bit of jb weld. Ended up being just over 0.07" higher than the shoe...

There was a Remington Commander for sale in our classifieds. I was super tempted to buy it as a dedicated lower. I am glad I resisted. Looks like an interesting mod.

I wonder what would happen if that hole was tapped? A new trigger adjustment. Smile

I had an armorer tell me he had less trouble doing trigger jobs on a cheap RIA than a SARO, Ruger, Kimber 1911's.   Have you had bad experience with a RIA?   I was kicking around the idea of getting one of these to use as a lower for my Nelson 22 conversion I just ordered.

Hmmm this is interesting! My R1 Enhanced has a perfect trigger from the factory. 4 1/8 lbs and zero creep. I had a trigger job done at Camp to make it 3.5 on the money. Still has all factory parts

I've not done a trigger on an ria. I learned my lesson on citadel and taurus. Ria might be fine, but I'm not going to call a guy (again) and let him know parts would be more than the labor...  the rias I've handled had the same "feel" as the low end guns I don't work on.

That's what poor quality controll does... one is great, the other... not much...
