Where is all the .22LR ammo?

I can't find CCI Standard Velocity .22LR ammo anywhere.

Are there other options in this price range for everyday practice?

I was at Davis's the other day (Sloatsburg on 17N) and they had plenty of .22 LR Ammo. Not too long a drive for you in Clifton. Call there and ask for Tom in the gun department, I am sure they would hold some for you until you got there.

Its an election year in the middle of a pandemic. .22 always disappears up the fastest.

A local store put CCI SV on sale for $2.50 a box.  I thought it would get sold out before I got there.  I was wrong - they never got it in.  So, at this point, I think a supply issue.  Once that gets sorted out, we'll then have a demand issue.

As noted, the Agulia super extra standard velocity is a good alternative.  But that's tough to find now too.  Match .22 (Eley, SK) seem easier to find but harder on the pocketbook.

Ammoseek isn't very helpful at the current time (for .22).  Even when they "think" it's in stock, it's not.

A 525 ct. box Remington 22 LR HP $30 at Dick's in VT a couple weeks ago.

Geco Semi-auto is relativity cheap and shoots well for me. I have not tried it, but Eley Action looks to be a decent option too. As with others I too have had good luck with Aguila Super extra standard velocity as well. Aguila's target pistol (a bit more expensive, but can be found on sale sometimes) shoots well, but is fairly soft and may not function your gun.  

I recently I have been shooting SK. It is more expensive but it shoots well. Part of my reasoning for this is that Lapua/SK seems to care about precision shooting sports, at Cardinal's 4 Gun Classic they donated several bricks of Center-x and OSP to the prize table. To me it makes sense to try and support companies who support the sport.

They had CCI SV when I was there. I bought a couple of 300 packs (Three 100 plastic packs in a box, like the Christmas special last year?

Targetsports USA has Geco semi auto for $3/box. I think I’ll try some.
I’ve been using Agulia SE for training. I believe it’s as good as CCI.

Duplicates my Ransom testing on multiple BE pistols. Good reliable short line ammo, but wasn't a choice for 50 yards for me.

Back before the last 22 ammo shortage I would buy a new case of CCI SV when I was maybe 1/2 way through my last case.  When the shortage hit I was down to 2 bricks and when I finally found a case of CCI SV it was $425 + shipping, then I found a case of Wolf Match Target for $600.  When these were almost gone cases of CCI SV started showing up for <$200 I bought a few (mostly to reduce my case cost).  Now my min inventory is 4 cases.  With that level I hope to have enough to wait until the price is right and I'll buy what I need to get back to 4 cases.

It's two cents more per bullet, than when you find those really great bargains.  So what.  You'll be set for two seasons of your shooting career, give or take.  That's how I'd look at it.

It's an availability issue now. And not likely to change until the election.

And long after if the wrong person gets in.
