1911 Custom Grip Question Empty 1911 Custom Grip Question

Post by cmohapp Sat Jul 18, 2020 1:26 pm

I am looking to purchase my first set of custom grips for a 1911. I was looking for pros/cons or any information on the Nill-Griffes, Rinks, and Fung’s. If anyone has owned or used more than one of those, comparing and contrasting the different grips would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I see an lot of Hi Masters shooting slabs on their 1911's.
some really sticky-tacky-grippy ones available out there.

worthwhile to check out before you leap. if you haven't already.

IMHO, if you learn to shoot slabs on a 1911, you will not like anything else....try some Sharkskins. Cheap and you won't find much better....
if you decide to shoot CMP Service Pistol, you have to shoot slabs...learn to shoot them....double bonus!!!Smile

Friend at the range has Rink 0 degree on his, he says Fung was way worse in comparison. I got Nill adjustable palm rest i believe 0043, they are way better for me than Rink, especially in the part that supports fingers (where calouses would be). It is more prominent in Nill and hence better support for me. So Fung < Rink < Nill. To each his own though. Oh, btw, Nill standard anatomical grip feels almost like 7 degree offset that Rink has on their 7 degree grips. In Rink 0 degree I do not feel this rotation but in Nill standard grips I do. When I tried Rink 7 degree it felt similar. I like it.
