REVOLVER BARREL SHROUD MODS Empty REVOLVER BARREL SHROUD MODS

I have a Dan Wesson 715 with the heavy shroud.  Is it feasible to put cutouts in the shroud to lighten it, and ok, to make it look cool. Maybe take a little off the underlug.... Something like the Ruger Super GP100s from the custom shop.   Would that be like a few $100 job or several?  Is there a smith that might like to talk about it?
