I have a model of 1989 s&w627 6 shot that I love. Want to shoot DR with it. Problem is trigger is consistent 2.25 lbs. would changing rebound spring increase that enough? I tried tightening main spring and had little discernible increase in wt.

Yes, you will need a stronger trigger rebound spring to increase the single action trigger pull.
