Has this feature evaporated or am I blind and can't see the tab to get to it?

There is a Recently Shared Images section at the bottom of the home page. That is the only photo gallery I have seen.

Everybody used to have their own photo gallery they could upload pictures to for hosting purposes.

In good news, you are not blind.  

It was turned off.  Now it is back on.  Not sure why it was off or for how long.
