Questions about The Cardinal Shooting Center Empty Re: Questions about The Cardinal Shooting Center

Is Cardinal planning on using e-targets or turning targets? The nostalgia side of me is hoping for turning targets. The old body is wondering if it wouldn't be nice to cut down on the walk time.

Where are the condos withing 20-30 minutes of the facility.  I will not stay in Columbus, so forget that area.  Also, not interested in staying in a hotel room all week.

Old master, currently Cardinal is leaning heavily To turning targets with cardboard and paper.
As for shopping.... Polaris Parkway Shopping mall is 19 miles to the south and a new mall just broke ground 9 miles south. There is word that bass proshop will be built there also.

All aces, I don't know about condos in the area, but I know Cardinal is working on Rv rental. Ideally you would show up and the RV would already be there and set up.
I think a better bet would be to rent a house nearby. Again I will do some digging and get you a Better answer.

lodging will be manys biggest concern and most will feel staying in high crime Columbus a no go as I would. So what ever info you can come up with would be great.

They, CC, will be having their largest trapshoot of the year mid August. A good time to scope out the facilities.

Given the overall current housing around cardinal I would shoot the canton regional and skip the first year at cardinal.

We do have some time to firm up housing plans. There is still a long road to travel. Like I said in another post. There will be plenty of housing, it might be different, but still you will have more options.
So where do you stay while at canton all aces????

Very true James. Most pistol shooters do not know what 1600 competitors look like..... It is truly a sight to behold.
And there is housing for all of them....

Danehoogle,
You seem very well informed regarding Cardinal. Would you mind explaining any relationship you have w/ Cardinal?

I used to live in Columbus and went to school there. Crime is a problem in the inner city area but not in North Columbus.

Colt711, to answer your question I must tell you the story. Last year after the competitors meeting, I heard everyone complaining that " someone needs to do something.... Well, I was always told " don't complain, do something about it. So July 15th last year, I went to cardinal and introduced myself. I do not work for Cardinal, the work I have done to this date has been all pro bono. I am the person who designed the proposed range complex for cardinal.

I can vouch for everything Dane has said.  In the parking lot at Camp Perry last year after .45 team matches, Dane, Brian Zins, and myself were talking and Dane decided he was going to go to Cardinal and talk to them. He has not received one penny from them.  Dane is doing this because he believes in it and wants our sport to flourish.

That I do no know. I will be on site tomorrow, so I will pose the question. I do know that two new ponds are to be dug and dirt used for a backstop. It would be nice to have some cabins around the new ponds....
