Hornady LNL Ammo Plant Empty Hornady LNL Ammo Plant

Post by Guest 3/28/2019, 7:24 pm

I've read the various threads re' choice of press as well as the thorough and interesting comparison report between Dillon:Hornady:Lee.

But I see that the Hornady LNL Ammo Plant is currently on offer for just over $1k - and this includes a bullet feeder (a very expensive additional extra for a Dillon). Only needs dies and a shell plate for the desired calibre.

So, if primarily reloading 45ACP for Bullseye, why not a Hornady LNL Ammo Plant?

I like my Hornady LnL, but couldn't afford the Ammo Plant. Get it!

I'll tell you what I LOVE my LNL AP's. I like that I can keep my right hand on the handle at all times, I can easily pick up a bullet and brass at the same time with my left hand, allows me to load very quickly. I love the interchangeable powder drop stems and the LNL quick change bushings. I really don't feel like this press gets the love it deserves, for $400 on sale its unbeatable.

Note: The bullet feeder is not designed for lead bullets, only jacketed. (That being said, I love my LnL)

I just did a mock up on Dillon's website. It's $1319 for a 650 with case feeder and Mr bullet feeder all setup in 45 acp. Having had both, I would keep that option in mind.

+1 and if you are primarily loading lead then I'd consider the MrBulletFeeder Mini and save about $300 or $200 if you buy 2 extra magazines.

Hornady and RCBS make a tube bullet feeder gah works with lead.  And most of the drum bullet feeders work with coated lead bullets.
